Questions

Which iPhones does PenPal work on?

PenPal needs the latest version of iOS. Its AI study tools use Apple Intelligence, which is available on recent iPhone models. Transcription, scanning, and referencing work on every iPhone that runs the app.

Am I allowed to record my lectures?

Many universities and colleges allow recording for personal study, but rules differ. Always check with your lecturer or institution first, and only use recordings for your own studying.

Can you see my notes or recordings?

No. Everything is processed on your iPhone and stored on your device and in your own iCloud account. We never receive your lectures, notes, or scans.

Which referencing styles are supported?

Harvard, APA 7th edition, and MLA 9th edition, for books, reports, news articles, journal articles, and websites. Always check references before you hand in your work, as your institution may use its own version of a style.

Which languages does PenPal speak?

PenPal's screens are available in English, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Simplified Chinese. It can transcribe lectures in many more languages and regional accents, such as Irish, UK, and US English.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, or tap Manage Subscription in PenPal's Profile. You keep PenPal Pro until the end of the period you've paid for.
